How do believers propose that a creator exists without an intelligent universe?

Stephen Hawking freely speaks about the possibility of an intelligent creator of the universe. However, that creator cannot possibly be the one hypothesized in the Bible because the Bible clearly states that the universe is only 6000 years old yet we know that the universe is at least 15 billion years old, so if you want to believe in intelligent design, realistically, you have to discard the Biblical god as the designer. If you can interpret 6000 years into 15 billion you are not being at all intellectually honest or consistent.

Perhaps they don't have the need to find an answer. Whether the universe is the result of a random accident, divine will or if it just always was, we can't know the answer and the current state of affairs is the same. Knowledge of the origin won't change the way things are now. So why worry about it? I suppose many atheists, like myself, simply don't care a whole a lot about why the universe exists.

I'm not an atheist, but I can totally understand how it would seem possible.

First of all, the universe is infinite.

Now you assume that the chances are microcopic (multiply microscopic odds by infinity and you get a very good likelyhood) of a planet like Earth existing. (Being the right distance from the Sun, and with all of the right chemicals being present)

Then you look at how the tides splash upon the shore and create bubbles.

Then you see how it is possible to create amino acids (the building blocks of DNA) from lightning hitting the right combinations of chemicals.

Then you see that it is possible for lightning to have struck some chemicals and formed amino acids and that MAYBE the bubbles on the shore somehow combined with this amino acid and started some string of events which lead to life in the form of single celled organisms.

Then evolution could have taken over from there.

So yes, it may be easier to believe in God. But the Atheists are not necessarily wrong.

Is it possible that the truth is too big for anyone to fully comprehend, and that maybe creationism and evolution are not necessarily incompatible?

Oh wait you asked about the creation of the universe, not life.

Well I guess if God wanted to confuse people he did a great job by creating floating bits of dust and giant balls of burning hydrogen for us to argue about. I would have to refer you to Occams razor though.

I am an atheist, and I'll give you my answer. I believe that everything is physical: our conciousness/sense of self is simply our brains' chemicals working. I think an intelligent creator is not necessary: did God make us all evolve? No, it's a natural process. I think the Universe was created through a series of physical reactions (ex stars forming, dust collecting to make planets), which made the Earth, and eventually we came about. It's all a natural process.

The most common link seems to be 'who created the Creator?'. To some it must be easier to dismiss a loving designer of all that there is while at the same time ignoring the fact that intelligent living life potential within the living cell/dna COULD NOT have 'banged into it's integrated complexity' unless they take the odds of 1 to the eternity. Also the capacity of the amount of human brain cells used to its fullest takes trillions of yrs, PTL!

There is a theory in which universes 'seed' each other through black holes (I don't understand or believe it myself). The point is that there are many theories, you can look them up. Out of interest, how do you propose the Creator came into existence?

there is microscopic existence in the ice in Antarctica. existence can exist in places we not in any respect concept it ought to till at the moment. this variety of existence is termed "extremophiles" because it exists in extreme environments. This disproves the first fact. Scientifically what you discuss is faulty. I consider the answer about "talkorigins" - it easily is smart. Whoever believes the things you suggested needs a technology type - badly. I see through your upload that you do not trust in it yet i may also see that dissimilar the posters listed the following are lacking that aspect. #12 - pollinate, no longer polarize - thoroughly diverse suggestions. #19 - there is not any metal in the Earth - its an alloy made from carbon and iron - it is synthetic and does no longer exist in nature. there grow to be existence on earth in the previous oxygen confirmed up. The oxygen poisoned dissimilar it and a sparkling type of existence confirmed up. for sure, some thing else is nonsense.

How do you explain the existence of an intelligent creator?

Why would modern religious people assume that the universe needs an intelligent creator? If primitive people had known what we know today about science, God would never have been invented.
