A tetanus shot is actually a little different from most shots. I don't know the exact reason as to why but a tetanus shot must go into the muscle. Most shots use a smaller needle and go into the fatty fleshy areas of the arm or butt and not deep. A tetanus shot goes all the way in. The actual injection shot is not bad it is about the same as any other shot. The worst part is the next few days. Since the muscle has been penetrated it becomes sore, depending on how you rate pain. Definately get the shot in your non dominant arm.

It stings a little bit, and then is sore for a few days. It's not a big deal, you anxiety is much more painfull that the shot will be. It takes about five seconds!

yes. as much as any other shot. it only hurts for a second unless they do it in a fatty area. then it hurts a couple days after. not very much, just like a bruise.

No. Not if you don't think it will. But if you continue to worry about it - be rest assured it will. So just think to yourself that the pain is only going to last a second or so and your a big girl and can handle it.

I don't think so but then again it depends on your pain tolerance. just look away when they do it, you probably won't hurt as much.
