NO!! It's horrible and new. ANY new product from Microsoft has sucked the first year or so, but Vista will suck forever.
1) Third party drivers/apps are not allowed unless “approved” by Microsoft. Some of your favorite software won't run on Vista because the drivers have not been "approved" by Microsoft. This also means that the digital camera you just bought may not be "allowed" to connect to the PC.
2) ALL media copied thru Vista is SERIOUSLY degraded. The mp3s that you rip, are not allowed to be full quality. Same with DVD's.
Personally, if XP ever goes out of support, I'm going Linux

Vista. some human beings say Vista makes use of up lots device ram. this is genuine. Vista makes use of those ram to speed up the laptop. Thats why there is no longer lots loose ram. Xp wastes those loose ram doing no longer something. Vista is much greater nicely matched than XP than u think of that's. Vista hasn't any subject to me for a million year already. Vista is speedier whilst commencing application and beginning the laptop. some human beings evaluate XP via fact they're too used to XP or they're gamer. it seems vista is slower in video games via 2-5 fps. No enormous deal. VISTa!

Roger N is absolutely right.
Vista is the worst operating system ever!
The only people that think that it is great are the ones with no technical expertise or understanding of the core of the operating system.
They just accept it at face value because it is the popular thing to do.
It is like the story of the "Emperors New Clothes".
Do some research of your own before you just accept it as the most wonderful operating system ever just because you are told that it is.
It is not!
It is absolute rubbish that is loaded with DRM.
Most informed people are moving to either Linux or Mac.
If you get a MacBook you will be much better off.

It is so much better, man. She is going to love it. You'll never hear from her again, because she is going to be playing with her new laptop all the time. Might as well say goodbye to her.
