Dipping in the change Jar?

I took some money from the change jar my girlfriend has saved for 20yrs.I took six dollars out after she told me not to.Now take into account that for 9mons.I had put my change in the jar,too.We were low on dough so I thought without stressing her out I'd take the monies from the jar: Thief or What ?????

Put the $6 back then you're not. Otherwise keep a separate jar.
