This is normal activity, I like to call it making biscuits. My girls are almost 3 years old and still do this even suck on the blankets or clothes. I think it reminds them of mom. Try getting them their own blanket, one with silky trim is the best. This will deter them from doing so on your personal items.

The kneading part has been sufficiently answered by others, but I noticed that the sucking part was not. some cats will suckle on fuzzy blankets or stuffed animals for two different reasons; the first could be the remembering their kittenhood thing, but the other viable option is that when Cookie was a kitten, she was weaned from her mother too early, and it is sort of a coping thing. Once my family rescued a very small kitten from a garbage bag on the side of the road (unfortunately the rest of the litter did not make it). As this kitten got older we noticed some odd quirks about him. One of them was that he would suckle on blankets, towels, or even you shirt when you held him. Hope that helped! :)

Your cat is happy and content. See the sites below for details about this perfectly normal behavior.

mine do this too, they say it's because they were taken away from the mother too soon but thats probably nonsense, they probably just find it comforting, give her a blanket of her own and gently scold her when she does it to yours or your clothes, she will learn which is hers

Yes this is normal, all three of my cats do it. they do it because the blanket isn't comfortable enough and they do that because it marks it as theirs.
