Some people say they won't tolerate intolerance (actual answer to a question I asked). How do we oppose the intolerance of Pat Robertson, KKk or miltant atheism by returning their intolerance? Does this not just create more intolerance and even make these people feel justified in their beliefs?

There are many things we, as a society, are intolerant of. Murder. Theft. Etc. Some of the things I am intolerant of, like bigoted intolerance, I also think should be protected. I support the right of a Nazi to walk around a synagouge spouting hatred.

I however also have the right to explain to him why he is a complete and utter waste of the air he breathes.

We are in what John Stuart Mill refered to as the free market place of ideas. Just because we allow it on the market doesn't mean we have to buy it.

We oppose the intolerance of Pat Robertson, the KKK, Fundamentaluists, etc. by figthing them in the market place of ideas.

I don't.

In truth, I don't care about their agenda. My world is to small and I don't have the time.

They have the right to be a group, I don't oppose their right to meet.
