You shouldn't stop taking benzodiazepines suddenly!!!, especially if you have been taking them a long time. Talk to your doctor if you want to stop taking benzodiazepines. If you need to stop taking benzodiazepines, you should gradually reduce your dose until it's safe to stop completely.

Benzodiazepines can be addictive if you take them for more than a few weeks. It can then be hard to stop taking them. This is why you shouldn't take them for more than two to four weeks.

so go to ure doctor, and ask him if its safe to reduce ure dosage, i think it should be!

may i ask how long uve been taking it??
i hope this helped!

if u have any questions, dnt hesitate to ask,

my email noname_2001_2002@yahoo.co.uk

hope this helpes,
good luck take care!!

I commend you for wanting to quit. It will become a problem. My mother has taken Xanax for as long as I can remember and she has so many health problems now it's not even funny.

Please see your doctor about tapering yourself off the medication. If your doctor thinks you should stay on it, I would consider a second opinion.

If you suffer from anxiety, try getting lots of strenuous exercise. For me personally, it has to be strenuous and it has to be a lot! Some people report positive results from regular moderate exercise...it depends on the person. Start out gradually, of course. I also suffer from anxiety but I refuse to take medication for it when I find that exercise alleviates it better than any drug.

Also, if you are anxious at night before bed and have trouble sleeping, a small glass or red wine is so much better for you than a pill (as long as you are not pregnant). The exercise will also help with that.

Best of luck to you! Remember, do not go off the meds cold-turkey and it's best to find a doctor to work with you on this, especially one that is open to alternative methods of treatment.

This isn't something to go at alone. Talk to your prescibing doctor. A taper program is essential with this type of drug.

I'm sorry to tell you that you are already addicted. It's best to go to your doctor and tell him you want to be tapered off gradually.
