We have(had) two jars of it,...Great Value serial numbers beginning 2111, one is a big jar of creamy, the other is a small jar of chunky. My oldest son has been eating the chunky PB after school all week. He has also had a low grade fever and slightly upset stomach all week. He went to the nurse at school and had 99.5 and told them his stomach was upset. He thought he was going to throw up last night around nine-ish(he didn't) and he had eaten a pb sandwhich right after school a little before three. His teacher thought it was nervousness, they are doing practice test this week and the TAKS test next week. If this is from the peanut butter last night it took about six hours but, he has also been eating it all week.

So the incubation must be up to 6-8 hours. I've never heard of it, and two of my resource books do not have peanut butter or peanuts listed.
Wow. I just read on the web there is a peanut butter salmonella outbreak! Maybe my book should be updated...Apologies!

dear filmmor, the onset is within 24 to 26 hours after ingesting th cotaminated peanut butter. Jan

It was Peter Pan and a generic store brand. Product code 2111, I bought mine at Publix yesterday. Buy one get one or BOGO
(don't you know) Now I have to return them.
It showed up on my Internet news site and the Today show this am, early.
I really do not know the time frame for getting sick.

OK My son apparently just ate a bad peanut, per his father. When did this happen???

24 hours or so. how do you know it was infected?
