If the female has not had babies, she is just a cat. Once the female has babies, she is called a queen.

On anothe rnote, only intact male cats are called toms. Neutered males are just cats. :)

Female cats are called queens, though oddly only when they're fertile. After they're spayed, they're just cats. Weird I know.

usually a tabby =) When i worked at the animal hospital they put them down as a domestic short,medium, or long hair for the cat breed if it was a mutt so to speak =) hope this was helpful!!!
