I received a text message from a guy for my birthday and valentines day (they both fall on the same day) now I havent talked with this guy in about seven months. We never had a relationship we actually did school related work together. There was some chemistry there however we really didnt have a chance to explore it. Now I have moved and still think about this guy often. How can I interpert his text message and how do I reply (besides just saying thank you) I need something appealing

i don't see anything different... there is nothing wrong and nothing to be confuse about, me and most of my high school friends doesn't have much communication but we made it a point that we greet each other on our birthdays... normal friends do that, even if you don't and doesn't talk for almost a decade, it doesn't even make any difference.. unless your the one that has the extra special feelings for the guy... But the way i look at the position of the guy there is certainly and absolutely nothing special... nevertheless he say so himself... (just being frank, and doesn't want you to expect things way too much)

Well, I would suggest that you reply to him thanking him for the message and telling him" What a coincidence, I wa thinking of you as well". This will let him know that you are opening the door to him. Now, you can ask him directly if he would like to meet up with you and have a coffee or a drink (everybody does that). So you would be opening the door without sending any wrong message.

Let me know how it goes. :)

Tell him that you really appriciated the kindness in his message and that you would like to opportunity to see if you could work on a relationship. All he can do is say no and you will still have a friend. Life is too short to live with regret. Take care Heather

Can't really answer you unless we know what the text message said. Did it just wish you a happy valentines day and birthday...or was something else said? Was is just a friendly text...or did he add something else?

Tell him how much you appreciate the gift and that maybe the two of you could get together for lunch or dinner sometime, if he wants to.

Maybe just call him and say hi, see what he is up to. See where it goes from there.

thanks very much, muchas gracias, muito obrigado :D if he's a mature (as in grown up, wise) man he SHOULD be the one saying what the heck he's looking for ;) He should initiate things, not u...if he doesn't he's not worth even to try ;)
