I recently went out with this guy who is very sweet and polite, is a nanny to kids and actually emphasizes politeness, has been very nice to me (we had an awesome date and a very strong intimate connection), but systematically ignores any question which remotely deals with his emotions, like "how are you feeling today?" or "do you have any concerns about me?"

On a friend's advice, I've backed off and stopped asking stuff like that, and I am a firm believer that no one has to answer every question, but it seems rude to me to be completely ignored rather than told "I'd rather not talk about that," or even "that's too much," or "damn man, relax!" =] Am I crazy for thinking he's being rude or should I REALLY just relax and shut up?

well some guys don't like to express their emotions freely, sometimes coming with a question like is a little too upfront for them. men like to take things slow and when they time come they will tell u exactly how they feel. my bf love me the first day we met, he knew that we had a pretty nice chance to become something more than friends, but he did not tell me how he truly felt until a month after. i mean the way the person acts and the way the person behaves when he is with u will automatically tells u that he is interested or not. u don't have to push it, just like u said i think u should just shut up and relax for the time to come.

I agree with you. If he doesn't want to answer the question he should reply that he would rather not discuss it and let it go. This may be a warning sign that you shouldn't be involved with him as he may not be likely to communicate when ya'll are having problems. Good Luck!

it is very rude, and he has no right to treat you that way even if he doesn't want to answer the question. I would ask him if he is brain dead

Maybe he felt as though *you* were being rude for asking intrusive questions.
