He has access to just about every supersonic jet in the US Inventory. Do Presidents ever take advantage of that?

No. However, there's a rumor that for some time after 9/11, the Vice President used an F15D (two seater) to quickly move from place to place. Dunno how accurate that is given his heart condition, though.
Flying over 1.0Mach takes SIGNIFICANT fuel, and is not sustainable, except for aircraft like the MiG25/SR71.
What the President needs is a large aircraft for his communications and staff needs (including space for the press), and also to impart a sense of importance when he arrives.
The VC25 is designed for all of these requirements. Also it cruises about .80Mach which is fast enough for most purposes.

That jet is no more..but no. the pres requires a special plane Air force 1 for communications and safety reasons...

........... president is not a special force soldier ..... who needs to solve a problem by his physical presence .............. he is an executive who has to make very rational decisions and could be slow ........... the fast decisions are protocols he has to say go or no go for a situation .......... and their is a protocol of under what safety factors and conditions the transport of the president can be changed or what air-crafts he can use ........
