I think the pay is exceedly good, but with all that blood, think of the risks involved. Never, ever draw blood or work with it without gloves on, then wash your clothing in bleach water and bathe and shampoo with a disinfectant. It's no wonder they are well paid, it should be considered a high risk job at this point in time.

There is a wide range, depending on where & when. A night-time phlebotomist working in a hospital is very well paid. It's a great job choice!

They get paid for what they do. So, you'll never see a rich phlebotomist. It is easy, but you can contract diseases of all sorts if you puncture yourself and the individual is infected.
Talk to your neighborhood junkie to get started on how to fix a vein.

That website will tell you the range for the area of the US you live in, where and how to get trained, and how to get registered as a Phlebotomy Technician (PBT).

Yes, if you are good you get paid more.
You will never get rich, but you will be happy and you will eat.
The hours are flexible enough if you decide to pursue more avenues you can at least work.

Well here in the San Francisco area they make about $22-27/hour.

Median is about $27,000. The hours can suck if you work in the hospital, but it doesn't take a lot of training.
