I want to view my pictures as a slide show with background music.

make a movie using something like movie maker then put it on a cd or maybe dvd or maybe cheese

A good and cheap digital camera like a Canon A 510 will connect to your tv and make a slide show.
Otherwise you must check the features of your DVD reader.

most good photo editing program's will allow you to burn ya pics to a disc and add background music, I use Adobe photoshop album 2.0....I believe that this was a free download as its not a bought program. good luck....will warn you first though to pick music you like as its on a loop and if there are loads of photo's the music will send you round the bend...I dont add music anymore.

You go into Powerpoint on your computer, add sound and your pictures. Then burn it to a cd or dvd and play it on your TV!
