some people seem to have misinterpreted 'why do toasters have a burning setting' with 'my toaster is burning my toast'

there is a difference...

does anyone have a sensible/not so sensible answer to the question i DID write =p

Sounds strange as heck, but some people LIKE their toast burnt. I worked with a couple of people like that in California (they also liked microwave popcorn burnt).
