Raw fruit, eaten on an empty stomach, with no other foods. Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and apples are the best.
Poached eggs and ground lean turkey burgers. High in protein, omega 3 fatty acids, and no sugars. If you don't want to eat a high protein and fat breakfast, then eat a high fibre and protein meal, with NO FAT, such as fat free yogurt and a whole grain bread or Wasa crackers.
The body metabolizes carbohydrates into fat if there is any fat present with them at the time of digestion. If no carbs are present, fats are not absorbed, which is why you can eat whole eggs if you don't have any bread or potatoes or anything like that with them.
Basic rule of thumb is, for all meals: eat carbs with protein but no fat, eat fat with protein but no carbs. Don't eat any sugar or artficial sweeteners ever, eat as little refined carbs and sugary starches as possible (white flour, white rice, corn flour, corn, potatoes, carrots, beets are all too high in sugars) and refer to the glycemic index when eating carbs to restrict anything above a 55. When in doubt eat salad, leafy greens and veggies.
NEVER eat fruit with other foods, always on an empty stomach, either first thing in the morning, or three hours after any other meal. Fruit is digested in about 20 minutes, if eaten with other foods they get trapped and begin to ferment. The vitamins and enzymes are wasted by the heat of fermentation, thereby removing any benefit of having eaten them in the first place. The fermentation produces gas and bloating. The fruit will not wait with the other foods which are slower to digest and will rush ahead through the small intestine and cause cramps and indigestion and sometimes diarrhea.
