Because you are blinded from the truth with your disbelief......
Just trust in God and I promise you.....your eyes will open to the truth. And then you will know why.....

Many times you are asking questions about WHY we believe something or questions our worldview.
Well both our worldview and beliefs are informed by the Bible. The Bible has a lot of credibility for learning about the Christian faith.
Of course, we can have a discussion with you, without quoting scripture. If you read my serious Religion/Spirituality Answers, I would say the majority of my answers do not include Scripture.
I realize that non-Christians do not use the Bible as their base for their belief system. Therefore, I rarely try to convience them soley based on Scritpure.
My use of Scripture just depends on the question.

Because when you ask a question about my faith and beliefs, those things are rooted in Bible teachings. I cite the source of my points, just as I would cite any other reference work that I was using.
Not using the Bible in a discussion about my beliefs is the equivalent of trying to teach philosophy and not quoting from Plato, Socrates, or any other philosopher.
And not to be snide, but what makes you think that: A) all questions around here are "thought-out?" and B) that some of us don't put just as much thought into our answers?
My posts are usually at the bottom of the page because I *do* take time to think them through and support my points.

Why do you like to bunch Christians up like that when all of us ain't like that? Besides, some of your questions aren't exactly well thought out. Give me an example of a well thought out one!
Christians cite Bible texts because it is the Word of God not just simple stories. It's where we base our lives on and how we live them out. If you want a real discussion then ask nicely and not aggressively because it causes Christians to attack you because they defend their faith and in turn causes you guys to assume that we're this and that.
I admit some Christians are out of hand, but I know a lot of smart people who are Christians and your question implies that we are stupid! (haven't you figured it out yet) Why can't you just ask your questions instead of attacking us?

Thanks for the insult.
The fact is, you have your world view and your thoughts go accordingly. You have your philosophies and inclinations also.
We have ours.
What I am understanding by your statement is that you don't have a mind that is open enough to try to see things from a different point of view.
I suspect you hold a prejudiced view of Christians in general, so to even give us a chance would never happen.
A real discussion happens when ALL parties involved are listening.

- As Christians, we believe the Bible is the absolute inspired word of God.
- The Bible has all the answers to yor questions, so why discount it?
- The Bible ecourages us to study & test it.
- I'll tell you what; read the Bible in its entirety, then see what questions go unanswered by it, then ask about what you do not understand.
- If you wish to have " a REAL discussion" you must first be familiar with the source of our information, then challenge us (so to speak).
- If you really want to be "scientific" or "intellectual" about it, read the Bible then attempt to disprove it.

I don't do that and I agree. It is silly to quote you a book that you either don't read or don't agree with. The same people that do that read the Bible to tell us Catholics we have a false religion. That also does not make sense as their churches and Bible both came from our religion. At least they are consistent in their foolishness. Just try to understand that not all of us are that uneducated.

You ask me to defend my faith in God and His Bible, yet I can't use the Bible to defend it....
Define Darwin's theory without using evolutionary text.
Haven't you figured out.... questions like yours are why atheists and agnostics have no credibility with me. You don't seek a real discussion, you want submission to your idea.
Thanks for asking.

If you ask a question are you not prepared for Christians responses to be backed up by the Word of God?
Yes, we do have credibility but not with you, which is fine with us....
It's called witnessing

Dear Mr. C. Jibba:
The Bible is an authoritative source.
A scientific practice is to refer to respected authorities.
You do not recognize the Bible as such. Fine.
However, all that means is that you don't recognize it as such.
It doesn't change the Bible from being an authoritative source.
