The Book of Mormon is only as perfect as the people who wrote it. Period.

The Bible, likewise, is every bit as perfect as the people who wrote it.

God's message is perfect, but our understanding of it can be imperfect and varied. Scriptural verses are often clear-cut, but can sometimes be vague as well. The prophets, apostles, and disciples who wrote the Holy Scriptures were just as human as you or me. That is why the Bible has many contradictions with itself. For instance, the story of Judas' suicide, the 3 hours of darkness, etc.

The Book of Mormon is true just like the Bible is true, but it is open to interpretation. The men who wrote it weren't perfect and didn't claim to be. That is why Moroni wrote on the front page, before burying the plates/tablets : "If there be any errors, they are the errors of men", because God doesn't commit errors.

If you read both the Bible and the Book of Mormon and compare what they each have to teach about Christ and His Gospel, you will find that they are almost 100% harmonious, and where they diverge, it is because of differences in viewpoints, situation, or simply ambiguity stemming from the fact that different people wrote each book.

As a former Mormon, can I also answer? The Jesus talked about in all the Mormon teachings is not the same Jesus of the Bible. He is the younger brother of Lucifer, or He is "The only begotten Son of God". That is only one major example.

Where is any archaeological evidence of settlements depicted in the Book of Mormon?

Why can't the Book of Mormon be translated into Chinese, word for word? Answer: because the word Mormon translates as demon in Chinese. Therefore, in order to be translated into Chinese, every reference to Mormon had to be changed, Including the title of the book, and all references to the person named Mormon. Is it therefore the same story? When the Chinese read about me, my name does need to be changed, how about yours?

The Bible tells us not te believe anyone that teaches about another Jesus. Therefore, I don't believe the Mormon books, or their doctrine. Mormons are very moral, upright people that are following false doctrine.

I believe it is the most correct book on the earth. The doctrine and teachings are true, I know because I have asked and have received many answers to questions...
You have to remember, a MAN was translating those records, not a god. He was subject to human error just the same as anyone else...that said, IF there were errors, they would only be grammatical or insignificant things and have no bearing on the doctrine. I do not believe God would allow HIS doctrine to be incorrect.

The doctrines and teachings in the BoM are perfect and true, moreso than any other book. I know this because I've read it many times and prayed about it many times, and have received undeniable confirmation from God.

Every word is perfect and true in that it is a word. The interpretation of that word, within the brain of a human, might be a different story. I looked to my dog for wisdom. She seems to understand me and very simple and direct terms.

Not only are the doctrines false, but their Prophet John Smith is false too!
If you read your Holy Bible, then read the BOM, you will see many the same story just a little differnt. Read it for your self and then make your own decision.

...to fully understand the B of M you need to study the mind and person of Joseph Smith... "smitty" had some "out-there" way of thinking... really... find out for yourself... Today, the Church of latter Day Saints polish it up fairly well and don't tell you about the "special" things that still take place in Salt Lake... learn about Joseph Smith... then consider the love of Jesus....

Don't waste time dealing with these 'double-talkers'. They feed on people who don't know the Bible.
