There is no "cure", there's rehab & recovery. Methadone is given to many addicts as a way to curb withdrawal... but it's addictive in itself. Detox is truly the best way...

Heroin is a liquid for of opium with some added chemicals, the only problem is that the drug out there now varies and if you get the wrong stuff, you can die just by one dose alone. The best way to never get addicted is to never start. But if you are addicted, then go to a rehab clinic and they will give you drugs, or try to flush it out of your system by drinking a lot of antioxidents, drink a lot of fluids period, or to build a fear of needles

This is another tragedy courtesy of the US government. A person who is addicted to heroin can be detoxed in a matter of days. However, those who are put on the government's methadone may need to use it for the rest of their lives. This makes absolutely no sense--big brother screwed up.

My brother is 25...he has been hooked on that stuff since he was 16... we have put him through Rehab...half way houses... meetings...the hospital.... EVERYTHING... nothing has worked. He still uses and he lives at home with my parents... He is getting no where and doesn't want to make the effort to get somewhere. A man that tried to help my brother said "You can't force someone to stop, they have to WANT to do it and it has to been in there head that they want to stop"

the alternate treatment for this addiction is methadone
help in kicking heroin is readily available ...
if you are trying to kick it, I suggest that you go to a drug counsellor, or walk in clinic perhaps
