You are wrong he is right Sounds like you and your friend should be tested. Where did you get your info?
STDs will affect the mind if you have one and don't attend to it medically. That is how the artist VanGogh died, syphilis, it will make you go crazy.
Your mind does not suppress infection. If infection finds its way into your body(your eyes,a open cut, your mouth, any open place on your body, your private area) even a brown rec louse spider bite can put anyone into the hospital if medical attention is put off.
Sorry but a shower won't do.
Go to the library or look it up on Google and check for yourselves who is right. You really need to educate yourselves on STDs just to be on the safe side and get your facts straight instead of guessing or listening to someone else.

Your friend is right. Mental toughness has nothing to do with infection. You can't suppress a virus just by wishing it away. Doesn't work for STD's or the flu. I wouldn't be surprised if you actually had something.

That is probably the most ignorant thing I have heard. If you break your leg skiing but tell yourself that it is not sticking out the side of your leg and the pain is not real then all is good right? Mentality does play a role but it can not suppress an infection. If you worry about it your stress level increases and your immune system suffers so it can spread faster.

You cannot supress infections with mental toughness and a shower. STD's are very real and easy to catch if you don't use proper protection. You friend is much more right than you are. If you have been having sex already without protection you would be the one who should be worried.

If you don't have the mental control to keep from sleeping around, you will get STDs.
By the way, it's the people who don't get tested and think they are safe just because they wash up afterward who are blissfully spreading STDs all over the place. Blissful, that is, until their parts start to rot and fall off ;-).
Educate yourself---or become another Darwinian statistic.

you are not right!, while yes, there is a mind/body connection,,, at the same time, there are diseases and viruses that are contagious, and no matter how healthy your mind is, or your body,, they can bring you down,,,,, and infect you....... STD's are in that category,,,,,,,no its not the people who get tested that have all the diseases,, many with them dont get tested,, and the disease slowly grows, while they are infecting others....... STD's are nothing to play around with,, when you have sex, you are really basically having sex with everyone the person you are with has been with,,,,,,,, if they carry something, you can catch it,,,,,, with all that said,, testing is very important,, especially for most STD['s, as they can be treated and in many cases even cured,,,,,

STDs are all about being infected with an actual virus or bacteria. Mental toughness cannot suppress Neisseria gonorrhoeae for reproducing inside your body.
First check out this link to learn about what you are risking with this attitude.
http://www.umm.edu/men/stds.htm
Second, check out these pictures of actual people with actual STDs.
http://www.dermnet.com/moduleIndex.cfm?moduleID=16
Lastly. Yes people who get tested may find out that they are infected. They can, in some cases, receive treatment and no longer be infected. People who never get tested, may be infected. Never receive treatment and blindly go about infecting other people. Not good!!
So, please, listen to your friend. STDs are real and dangerous. They can kill you. They are something to worry about.

Your friend is! No mental willpower or shower is going to prevent the spread of a nasty infection but a condom will most of the time! People who get tested have diseases and so do plenty of people that don't get tested who go around spreading a disease they don't know they have. Gonnorhea and Chlamydia are often asymptomatic in males...many of them don't know they have it. If you are going to be having sex, you need to be responsible and mature, use condoms and GET TESTED.

No its not! Your mind is very complex, what ever u perceive to do, you'll do. STD's have nothing to do with your mind but how protect yourself from infections. If your immune system is weak it would not be able to resist whatever infections you contract. So now you best, do best!

You could be right, Just kiss a girl with open mouth sores ( herpes ) and see if you get herpes. And then continue experimenting with known individuals that have STDs and see if you get any STDs. Good Luck.
