You do whatever you feel is right. I personally don't care. Just be safe in the knowledge that we will turn the other cheek. Do you really think you would be the first to ridicule Christianity? Now if you want real controversy, try doing one about Muhammad if you are so brave. Let's see how that goes over.

Check out the Pearls before Swine strip. (do a web search) Pastis regularly already does this.
Just keep it relevant - ie: if you're going to be controversial about us, make sure it's something that is really happening.
If we're not big enough to take some ribbing, then we need to grow up more.

Email it to me if you want! I'd love to see it. I had an idea on the same lines, and was thinking about doing a strip and submitting it to a local paper. It would have been called Stan and Jesse (get it?). Two roommates- Stan being a liberal and a total hippie; while Jesse is a mullet wearing, beer drinkin', good ol' boy republican. Basically using a religious suggestion to show its relation to and effect upon the two political sides... while keeping the sarcasm thick and a very spy vs. spy attitude.

Christians without sound Bible teaching are some of the most idiotic, evil people alive. I would enjoy your cartoon strip.

If you are funny sure. Otherwise forget it. Not even Atheists like stupid trashing of Christians for no apparent reason. Have you considered if Christians don't like it you wont get many readers.

Why stop there? You could make a whole line of cartoon strips that make fun of different races, religions, etc. That's hilarious stuff.
