You may go the rest of your life and never fully understand the character of a cat.
They are very aloof creatures, yet they can crave your attention the very next hour..

Some cats are allowed outdoors ( not something that I would ever do ) those cats will kill and stalk, birds or mice yet when you let them back in the house they will want to sit on your lap and be petted and loved....they turn from preditors into sweet and loving pets within a matter of minutes.

Not ever fully understanding the character of a cat is why I love cats.
They are very mysterious creatures and for me that's their charm.

Observation!

I have 6 cats and I love just watching them and the way they interact with me and each other! One is boss cat but getting on a bit, two are battling each other to take over his position, these are independent and strong minded cats.

I have one is afraid of everything or any noise and hides if we have visitors! He loves us though and is a real softy!

I have one who was the runt of a litter, she has never grown full size and is quite needy...when she wakes up she always miaows until she's picked up!

I have one who is like Dougal from Father Ted programme...He never blinks and always seems unaware of what's going on around him...a little bit autistic, though he is a bad bird killer. He wears a device on his collar that makes a noise whenever he pounces.

They are all so different...that's what I love about them.

There is a nice legend about the Sacred Cat of Burma (or Himalayan) that says a cat can be the ultimate reincarnation of a Zen master.

this might sound funny but- i find the owner of the pet ie: cat or pup, is much like the owner it's self. My sister is very comical in personality, and her cat- "star", does the most rediculious things- and i'm always finding my self saying this is something my sis be doing too hahaha. just stupid out of no where sort of things thats all really :)
