Mostly because of good PR and even better funding.
The Discovery Institute reported $4.1 million in funding in 2003. Answers in Genesis reported over $9 million.
Compare this to, say, the National Center for Science Education, who reported $650,000 in the same year, and it's not hard to see why Creationism is getting so popular.

Why would you say that it is a lie? The whole universe it far too complicated to have happened spontaneously. Take the lowly bacterium, (from which we are said to have evolved) it is irreducibly complex. That means that it cannot function without any one of it's components. Yet the evolutionists say that this is what happened, an mutation occurred that caused a component to change. What are the chances that such a mutation could have resulted it a perfectly operational cell. Now multiply that process by millions of times until you get to us. Now you have the human race covered, what about all the plants and the millions of other animals?
If you follow the theory of evolution, then it is no stretch to believe that a hunk of steel left in a field for millions of years will EVOLVE into a '96 Cadillac.

i'm a Christian and that i consider with you. there's a lot about the Bible and that's interpretations that problem me. the probabilities are severe that the position you stay, your authorities separated faith from rules a lengthy time period in the past. that's unlawful now to do many fo the flaws that the BIble says is okay. the important social gathering for me in maximum western societies is the felony secure practices and welfare of animals, yet there are endless different examples. As a really liberal Christian, i attempt to steer a sturdy lifestyles and that i imagine the ten commandments are a sturdy uncomplicated experience record of maxims to adhere to. there's a lot in the Bible that strikes your intentions and innovations to a sturdy position. there's a lot that makes no experience (the area the position it insists that lady can not talk or ask questions in church, case in point) and different aspects that we've obviously moved previous as we've develop into more desirable thoughtful, variety and tolerant people - and homosexuality is easily one of those aspects. If Jesus got here decrease back today, i imagine he'd be horrified no longer only by technique of the money making device that organised faith has develop into, yet how badly we manage human beings, making use of the BIble as justification. Jesus spent time with Mary Magdalene, a prostitute. That tells me all i opt to learn about tolerance. only lead a sturdy lifestyles, Bud. Be variety to human beings, be tolerant - noticeably to those who disagree with you. they many times have very strong own motives for believing what they have self assurance.

Monsieur, vous avez raison-You are correct! Religions were usually founded long ago when people were mopre naive. With modern science and logic, it is difficult to see why anyone with a normal IQ would believe such nonsense. I was beainwashed with Christianity by my family when I was a child. I am roo inrelligent to never question such silly stuff, but my brother and sister believe it and believe iot is wrong to even question it. You see that feaar is a strong motivation here. They think I'll go to Hell. What nonsense, I say, but they never will rise above such childish beliefs that are on the level opf Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy.

First off, Creationism is not a lie; that falls to the theory of evolution (note, it is a theory).
Creation is mentioned throughout the Bible, but is throughly explained and detailed in Genesis. If Creation were not true, the entire 1st few chapters would be a lie, thus casting doubt on the rest of the Bible.

Human arrogance is one of the few things that is in almost unlimited supply. And some atheists are living proof of that.
So let me ask you a question -- why is evolution such a successful atheist lie? Is it because science is such a poor "god" that you constantly have to praise it in hopes that no one will notice its defects?
Or is it so ridiculous that it can't possibly be true. . .but you've lived with the lie so long that you've convinced yourself it must be true?
You're welcome to believe in evolution all you'd like. But don't shove it down my throat and belittle my beliefs, the way that you claim Christians do to atheists.
Hypocrisy and intolerance are two-way streets, and questions like this just prove that.

The last reason actually has merit. (the make yourself feel better one)
Talk about boosting your ego. Does it make you feel superior to post a smug, assuming question like this? How much about creationism have you researched with an open mind? Or do you just assume that they are all wrong because it helps you fee better?

Well - it has been passed down from generation to generation from the beginning with Adam and Eve. Moses recorded it so word of mouth would be officially put in writing.

Its one of those situations where ignorance breeds ignorance. In middle america the education system can be quite poor, even well meaning teachers trying to explain evolution may not know what they're talking about then the kids go home or go to church and hear someone who sounds like they know what they're talking about - who says it with conviction, and that you MUST believe this unless you want to burn in hell.
Better education I think is the best way to undermine fundamentalist religion.
