in order to improve ur english first of all my dear friend u got to follow these simple steps:1.always try to speak in eng. even u if sound wrong ,bec. practise makes a man perfect.2.don't ,get distracted by ur wrongfulness of ur word selection.3.start reading a newspaper daily(english),in order to improve ur voccabalury,and find out the words from dictionary whaich u don't follow .4.while starting to speak eng. don't give attention much to grammtical mistakes as they are naural to occur while starting 5.have disccusions with ur friends on any topic of ur choice ,and soon u will feel that u simply speak/improved ur english as well as u can speak ur mothertongue.bbbyyyyyyyyyeeeee.take care..........

A great Grammar book that has very clear and concise explanations as well as exercises is English Grammar in Use by Raymond Murphy. There is the elementary and intermediate version. I'd go though the elementary first before going on to the intermediate, of course. And of course as the other have already said, reading and listening to English helps as well but these are all passive learning styles. You'll have to speak in English as often as you can in order to improve your spoken English.

1. Always watch TV and listen to radio in English.
2. Always read books in English.
3. Keep a dictionary around that translates from your language to English.
4. Speak in English as much as possible.
5. Go to school and/or get a cd/dvd for learning English.

Hey man i am from India English aint my mother tongue but i speak and write very well. the first thing u gotta do is start talkin it is only when u talk that another person can tell u ur flaws u will realize mistakes in tenses and even in verbs plurals etc. Read read lots and lots of books not grammar books just any old stories. Write as much as you can essays letters etc show them to some one with good English so that u can know how good u really are. hope that u found my advice useful!

my friend u can improve ur english by reading tenses books ..
but if u know all the tenses the problem is to speak then u have to keep on converse in english through out the day with ur friends , parents , relatives ........ don't feel shy this will definetly improve ur english and make ur personality better

I blv thr can b 3 solutinns.
1. Try speakinng in english with urself. take any topic and try speaking on tht continously for atleast 5 minutes.
2. hear to english news; may be for 10 minutes and then summarise it urself without a pause.
3. avoid using vernacular language as far as possible.

For improving vocabulary u can follow barron's list.The important part is grammar and the best book to follow is WREN AND MARTIN.it comes with the key.If u follow this book u will not err in grammar.Meanwhile u can start reading magazines esp HINDU newspaper is really good.listen to english news n start conversing in english.all the best.
