I am shopping for a 2007 Mazda 3 i-sport. They do not have the I-Sport in Phantom Purple until April. I really do not want to wait this long. This is the cheapest model. They do have an I-Touring model in Phantom Purple. Do you think they will give me a better deal on the I-Touring one if I say I don't want to wait until April?

tell them to give you their lowest price and if it is right you will buy it. Unless you ask you will never know. If you do not like the price tell them they need to go lower or else you will go elsewhere.

Probably not. They know you are interested in the sport edition. I don't know, but I presume that the sport edition will not be released until April. If you wait that long, and they know you want it, they will not give you any bargain. It will be a good seller, and customers will be very interest in one so they will be able to sell it easily. Mazda is doing pretty well in sales and they don't need to "work the customer". I would go do a different dealer and not show so much interest in the sport edition. If you stick with this dealer, be prepared to walk out saying you will go elsewhere and mean it. That may help. Or you might want to wait until later in the month. There is a chance you might get a bargain then, since at most dealers, the sales people have a quota to get extra money for so many sales in a month. That is a suggestion, not a fact at all dealerships.

Maybe, but the Touring version is more expensive anyway. If you think you're going to get the Touring version for the Sport model price, not going to happen. Shop around at other dealers and see if they can get you the car you want .

The Mazda 3 sells pretty well, they won't be dealing by much.

A cheaper deal will depend on whether it's a slow-selling car, and how good a negotiator YOU are.

You can try using that as an angle to lower the price on it. If it's a car that doesn't sell outrageously fast, you might get a few bucks off of it.

But simply BECAUSE it's not available until April isn't going to automatically earn you a discount.

Good Luck

I would say that they would give you a cheaper deal by telling them you want to wait. They do not want you to leave their dealership without a car. If you leave you could possibly never come back. They are going to do whatever it takes to close the deal unless the vehicles supply is less than the demand. I used to sell cars and believe this to be very true.
