human cells are not classified by gram stains, gram positive and gram negative only refer to bacteria. for example, a human epithelial cell is neither gram pos or gram neg its just pink when it goes through gram stain (usually).

G+: takes the dye.
G-: doesn't take the dye.
Gram staining is the first step in identifying bacteria.
