Seriously, how could anyone believe that a ball of dirt with some water on it could possibly develop by natural forces?

Equally seriously - if the only evidence to suggest the need for a creator is that you cannot imagine life developing naturally, then you should study the sciences. You'll find natural forces are a perfectly plausible way for life to begin (actually, the only way).

Theism flies in the face of reason - it is a lack of ability to comprehend or accept that the universe is vast and we are small.

You are right, the idea that a ball of dirt with some water could develop into anything other than mud is a silly notion. Evolution on the other hand does not teach that. Scientific reason is far more complicated than your example. Understanding of what other people are trying to say or teach is a great thing.

It couldn't- a ball of dirt is a ball of dirt and will always remain so. Anyway, where's the question about atheism?

Yes. Hey if you know how it happened go on create life from water and mud. When you do maybe I will believe but until you have some proof I don't care to hear the opinion.

Because we have a pretty good understanding of the natural forces involved.

Still figuring out some of the details of course, but the general concepts are in place.

The theories of the universe proposed by sciences are quite adequate. And, were they not flawed with a lack of origin, they would quite easily disprove the need for a God.

Atheism, like any other systemized belief, will often defy reason for the sake of satisfying its own anti-religious means.

this is the one that made my husband stop and think
that although we have all this evidence pointing to evolution etc ...
where was that spark that made us go from a lifeless planet to one thriving
and with so much pefection on it
and yes i mean perfection
every single thing on this planet has a purpose to each other

Not only can we fly in the face of reason, but we use it as a tailwind as well.

The ask-er is an atheist with an agenda asking a question as if they were of the opposite belief.

Nope, generally atheism doesn't even get off the ground.
