I can't get motivated to lose any weight. I fell awful about how I look but I can't get motivated. I have 2 kids and a full time job so I am exausted at the end of the day. I just want to stay in bed all day and do nothing. I am always tired. I don't want to start another diet because I always fail. I fail at everything. I know this sounds like I am looking for pity but I'm not. I'm looking for motivation. I feel like I just don't care anymore and my weight is rising because of it. I don't care what I eat, when I get to work, whether or not I put make up on today, nothing. I have no social life because I am either at work or at home with the kids. What can I do?

Thanks everyone. I don't have any medical insurance so a Dr is out for now. I have trouble getting anyone to watch my girls and I feel guilty for leaving them at night when I'v e been at work all day. I used to be on antidepresasnts but I lost my job & got divorced so I had no insurance. But thanks for all your kind words, I'll try to focus more on how I feel and less on how fat I am. And try to find some other intrests or something.

I am going through the exact same thing right now. I have recently gone through a nasty separation with my husband because he cheated on me. I was about 20 pounds overweight when he strayed so I turned the negative into positive and lost the weight right away. Well, that was seven months ago and now I feel like I'm in another rut. Could be the season...I'm snowed in right now and all I want to do is eat and lay around. I work full time and have kids too. I have set up a therapy session to try to air out my frustrations. I honestly think I have a type of seasonal depression, because I feel like this around the same time every year. I guess I don't have any specific advice, only that I wanted to offer support in that you're not alone. Maybe for starters, take a bubble bath and pamper yourself... if you can, join a gym? Some gyms offer babysitting services for free and it's a great way to meet people and lose weight at the same time. I know for me, exercise not only makes me feel better about myself but it also relieves stress. Good luck, and I hope you find relief from these feelings. Now to fight my own blahs,I am going to bundle myself and the kids up and go have a snowball fight! :o)

OMG, that was me 8 months ago. I had gone from a size 6 to a 12 in less than 3 months, I did nothing but eat, sleep, go to work, deal with homework (I also have two kids). Last April I decided in one flash to quit my job, which was financially devastating, but sometimes it takes doing something drastic to move one along. It has taken 8 months, but the weight is coming off, I get out of my pjs every morning and get dressed even if we aren't going anywhere and have started a much better career, plus my kids like being around me again. I am not suggesting you do the same thing I did, but maybe examining what the bottom line is for you and making that a change can be life altering. Good luck.

I am sorry you are feeling depressed. Have you talked to your doctor about it? Exercise can actually help with depression. I think you just need to start moving for now. Choose something you like or have been curious about it. It can even be as simple as taking a 20 minute walk at lunch or before you go to work. Don't put too much pressure on yourself to see the results. It takes a few weeks for exercise to become a habit but it will. When it becomes something you habitually do, you always find time to do a little something or a big something. Remember, it's time for you. I actually really started feeling motivated when I got into a regular yoga routine. I felt better, refreshed and more curiousity to find other activities I enjoyed just as much. Hope this helps.

I think your depression, laziness is not only due to your weight. You should consult a doctor about this. Some diets are so strict that you end up lacking vitamins, minerals, etc and this lack could be the reason of being tired. Or there might be another problem worring you other than weight. Try to discover what it is. In the meantime, you must make the effort to change your present situation. You must love the person you are. What you are doing now to yourself is a kind of self-destruction. So, try to cheer up, I`m sure you have plenty of reasons to be happier. Your kids for example.
Good luck!

change the way you eat. Don't buy fast food anymore. Stop eating fries, bread, and rice. Everything you eat effects your attitude. Find a role model or someone you admire. Remember you're not the only one who is in your situation. My best friend is doing way worse. She has three kids and the dad refuses to care for them, parents take all her money and her suv without asking leaving her with no money to even eat. The situation will pass and they will get older. Don't start on a diet just pick a couple of foods you know are good like grilled chicken, egg whites, sushi, veggies without dressing. small portions are inexpensive. If you must eat a burger or a taco only eat half and then eat the rest later. Start reading the ingredients and find a park or dvd excercise and mabe try it with your kids. Try to include them and it will feel great. If they are too young

I know how you feel. I am in the sam position myself, except I don't work. I rarely ever get time to myself though. I feel like I'm constantly waiting on everyone had and foot. Anyway, you should try to find time for yourself to do whatever you please. If it is absolutely impossible, include your kids into your exercise routine!!! They may enjoy doing some aerobics. Play sports with your kids, be active with them!!!! And just like some others said....get dressed, maybe a little makeup everyday, even if you don't go anywhere! just that alone will make you feel so much better! Good Luck hun, and if you still feel depressed you may want totalk to your doctor. Depression could be one of the reasons for your weight gain, lack of motivation and energy. You may need some anti depressants, if that's the case once you start taking them you will feel so much better and you should get back your energy and ambition!!!!

I wish I could talk to you today. I just got back from an A.C.T.S. Retreat for women as a team member. I highly recomend that you take the time to attend a retreat in your area. These retreats are spreading and growing all over the country. There are several different ones and any of them are good. Here is our calendar for 2 years. Now that I've mentioned it to you, you will probably start hearing about it more.

Some of the girls felt like you did when they got there and when they left, they were completely refreshed, strong, renewed, happy, encouraged, their weights had been lifted. I could go on and on. So, enough of that.
Here are some web sights that I use to help me when I need it, which seems all the time. You can add them to your favorites. Also, please try listening to http://www.klove.com it's also on regular radio. It is powerful, encouraging klove. They lift you up throughout the day in between great music and keep you there all day; great involvement on homepage...meet lots of your needs you are having.

This next one is my favorite. Please choose one of the presentations on the RIGHT side and watch it. Get the kleenex. I recomend one a day, so that you have time to let the one you just watched sink in. Also, use that center part as a daily tool to teach you new things and help you.

Here's another one for ya

I send all this stuff to people I know. I wonder if you have any email buddy's? You need them. You are too alone and need people you can talk to and laugh (even if it's on email). It is fun. I will email you happy things (not everyday) and you can tell me what's on your mind that you may not want to say out loud. Click on my avater and check first.
Well, I am happy you reached out to everyone today and know you will get all kinds of advise from caring people around the world who truly care about how you are feeling. I have been there sooo many times before in my own life. Hang in there! Let your light shine!
P.S. If you eat 1,000 calories a day of anything, you will lose 2 pounds a week. That's how ya do it to be realistic. Swimming is the greatest all body exercise (even brain). I swim laps but, getting older so swim like a Manatee, lol.
Also check out Joel Osteen on CBS, Sunday 10:30AM. You will like him, I promise. Get the book Purpose Driven Life (Rick Warren) and read one chapter a day for 40 days. Now I know I have listed at least ONE thing in here that will grab ya.

HEY! I HOPE YOU ARE WATCHING JOEL OSTEEN ON CBS RIGHT NOW BECAUSE HE IS TALKING ABOUT YOU! SOUNDS JUST LIKE YOU. PLEASE WATCH. IT'S ONLY 30 MINUTES OF YOUR LIFE. I CARE ABOUT YOU. HANG IN THERE! it is Sunday, Feb.18th as I write this.

start with buying the low fat versions of the food you currently buy. if possible switch to diet. take vitamins, and start slowly. park farther away from the store and at work. take the stairs instead of the elevator. clean something. you cannot not expect it to get better overnight. just start slow and add a little more until you feel better.
