Absolutely yes! I work in a small community hospital and when we do 'patient cares,' especially on those who are on respirators we play music. You know the type, with nature background. Or we ask family members what the patients likes and dislikes are. since we monitor heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure constantly. We have seen a direct correlation in stabilization of vital signs and mood music. I hope this helps. (You might want to check you punctuation and spelling.)

Music is everything. Some calms you others pick you up. Some will get you mad while others will douse your anger. It's all a matter of what you are listening to at the time. I used to play hard songs like Kiss to keep me awake while driving late at night and if you think about it, other songs like Air Supply will put you in the mood for love.

Music is a universal language, it's just a matter of what you want while listening to it.

I'm assuming you listen to slipknot. That kind of music raises your heart rate and adrenaline. But the reason you might think it's calming is because afterwards, your body cools off, resulting in a calmer feeling. All in all, that music itself isn't calming, but it is a great outlet for pent-up energy or anger, which is calming. Quieter, softer, slower music, especially classical music is very calming in itself.

Music with less than 80 beats per minute can be calming. Music over 80 beats per minute is made to "stimulate" you for action, dancing etc.
