Without blood you die. All blood does is carry thing through out the body, primarily oxygen. This feeds all of our organs and tissue. Blood also carried nutrients and other chemicals we need. Without blood the body starves to death due to lack of oxygen and food. Nope you cannot be born without blood...you would be still born. or dead. Blood is red because of the reaction with air. In an oxygen free environment it is not red, but more bluish in color.

All animals need to get nutrients and oxygen to all of their cells. Small ones can do this by having the nutrients diffuse through the gut wall and through the tissues of the creature, and oxygen diffuse in through their permiable outer skins. This does not work for large animals though as the distances between internal cells and the nutrients/oxygen are too great. Also, mist land animals have a waterproof skin that would stop oxygen getting in at all. The answer is to have a liquid (blood) circulating between the places where nutrients and oxygen are and where they are needed. So no we cannot live without blood because every cell will stave.

Blood is required for a number of reasons. few of them are:

1} Evenly balance the temperature.
2} Carry necessary elements like minerals, vitamins, proteins, etc to all parts of body.
3} Distribution of oxygen to various parts of body from lungs.
4} Carry waste products to kidneys to filter them out.
5} Carry carbon dioxide produced by different parts of body to lungs for its excretion.
6} To maintain proper mineral balance.
etc, etc.

We need blood because it is the only way we can supply oxygen to ur body. It is the only oxygen tranpost media in our body.

it is red because of the hemoglobin which contain heme. One component of Heme is Ferum. Ferum is the substance that colored the blood red.
