Walking, but you need to very fast pace. Bicycling is also good aerobic exercise. Do at least 25 to 40 minutes 4 times a week for the best results.

No there isn't, at least not in terms of calorie use, which is what you need to get rid of fat. Skipping is the next best thing - once you've got your technique up to scratch, and skipping mixed with an exercise bike can take the drudge out of running every cold winter's morning.
If you really want to burn fat, don't be taken in by people talking about your 'fat burning' heart rate zone (even sports professionals); the maths is complicated, but basically so long as you're doing approx. 20mins or more of exercise, training at a higher intensity (higher heart rate) will use up ('burn') more fat cells overall, even though a lower intensity derives a higher percentage of calories from fat cells... (But i digress!)
Bruce Lee swore by skipping as an intensive all-over body workout. But then he ran (not jogged- ran) miles and miles everyday too!

I agree with the "power walking" because it's so much easier on your joints and I've read studies that proved it actually works better (cardio/ vascular) that jogging! However, to get the most out of it, jog/ walking or dropping in short (perhaps 2 mins?) bursts of a faster activity between longer (5-10 mins?) intervals of power walking will probably help you to feel like you're not dropping your activity so much (in case power walking "feels" so much less to you even if it's not in fact).

Any cardio exercise will work. Choose the one you enjoy the most. Doing more than one is also beneficial.
Is more a matter of intensity and time devoted to the exercise you do.

Walking can burn as many calories as jogging if you power walk for double the time that you jog. Cycling can burn a lot of calories too, similar to joggin if you do it intensity, (try a few hilly slopes for example).
same goes for swimming, aerobic exercises, spinning, etc. It is a matter of time and intensity.

Jumping Rope is an excellent option. You will get a great cardio workout and by brining your knees up you will work those abs. There are also a lot of different foot patterns and speeds you can do to add variety. I break mine up into either 1 or 5 minutes segments by changing my speed and/or foot pattern. Not to mention that is also a good arm and shoulder strengthener.

Nope! The elliptical trainer is much easier on you than running or jogging. Which I believe running and jogging makes one lose weight the fastest!

Out of my own exp!!! Aerobics helps a lot. I am not on to running/jogging/walking and hence joined aerobic classes. Believe me! it helped me in getting my weight down by 6 kgs in 2 months.

Walking is the same as running and jogging, it just takes more time to "go the distance". 6 miles is 6 miles in terms of calories and fat burned, the only difference is that obviously running is going to burn more calories per minute than walking. If you aren't under a time restraint, walking is actually better for you than running and mile for mile burns the SAME fat as running. (notice it's mile by mile, but not minute by minute) . That's it.

Stop being lazy, running and jogging are the healthiest and cheapest form of exercise. however if you want to tone up your abs then daily sit ups should get them firm in no time.
