Wiley is dead on the money. Combat marksmanship is the defining martial art of the 20th and 21st centuries, by dint of the fact that it is the deadliest martial art on the battlefield.
Two caveats-- 1) There are far deadlier things than guns on a battlefield...but it takes no particular skill to push a missile launch button. 2) This does not in any way render other systems without merit. For example, very few people have a gun with them 24 hours a day.

wiley has a point, but forgets there is a higher power than firearms.

It is called WMD. thus "nuke-fu" while cliche'd and overly simplistic- is the real deadliest martial art.

and is right- martial arts comes from the term "the arts of mars" (translated) mars bieng the god of war- thus any tactic or technique in combat- in war is a martial art.

and depending on the situation- a knife can prove to be more deadly than a firearm. depends on who is ready and who is not. if you have an attacker with a knife at close range- that doesn't give you time to take out your firearm and use it before being cut multiple times- (anyone save that knife video I once posted?).

In certain dark corners there are whispers of an obscure Vietnamese art known as Nyoon Doc Dai, or 'The Way of Pain.' It focuses on hitting pressure points to overload nerves with massive impulses, sufficient to kill a man solely by pain. It could all be a bit of nonsense, though.

No martial art is deadlier or more dangerous than another. To say one is would mean that even a white belt in that style could beat a black belt in another.
Now to say that it totally depends on the person and what they do with their knowlage of an art. Regardless of what art they train in. then you can say a white belt in any art could beat a black belt in any art. As for the marksmanship answer. I don't know of any street gangs using guns that go to firing ranges and practice their aim.
Don't fear the art or the weapon. Fear the person weilding it.

Originally developed during the liberation fighting of Israel,
Krav Maga is now practiced by the entire Israeli military - especially its elite forces.
Krav Maga is an Israeli army method of unarmed combat now gaining popularity all over the world. It is considered a “no-nonsense” method of self-defence for a variety of situations.
Krav Maga combines elements of boxing, Judo, and Jujitsu as well as the use of weapons such as knives and sticks. This weapon technique is taught to deal with modern day street situations where guns and knives are often involved. There are no kata or other traditional martial arts training exercises.

The techniques of Krav Maga are highly practical and effective for the street. Individuals can attain a high level of profiency within a relatively short period of instruction.

I don't think any of the martial arts are deadly if done correctly. I know Ninjitsu has some pretty nasty moves that could cause death to the recipiant. There was a show on the Discovery channel or national geographic that talked about this.

The one that teaches a false approach to self defense.
The reason it's the deadliest is because it's victims have no clue that they have been tricked till it's test time and the damage comes.

I know a lot of people don't think of it, but marksmanship is. Martial arts is the study and practice of combat essentially, which includes weaponry. Firearms are weapons, so I would include markmanship.

You can learn all of the sophisticated hand to hand combat techniques and study for years, but you would still be no match for a person armed with a firearm.
