Hell no. Traditions are meaningless. Most of them started so long ago that most followers don't even know why they're doing what they do.

Silliness.

Which traditions? In some groups, when a boy hits 14, his dad takes him to a prostitute - I don't think that "tradition" should be followed. There's a tradition I've heard of that baptizes little babies - that tradition leaves a person thinking that the child is "saved" and there's no need to introduce the salvation offered by Christ to them. That's a terrible "tradition".

Even before he was a Christian, my dad had a saying that really covered almost any situation a young person could find themselves in. He would tell us to "Do Right." Simple words for a simple concept. Whatever situation you're in, DO RIGHT.

Of course, now you need to base "right" on something. As a Christian, I base it now on the teachings of Christ -not any church, or set rules by any group.

Lastly, having today's youth, or today's old people acting nice, behaving politely, being responsible for themselves would be nice, but without Christ, we just end up with alot of polite, well behaved people in hell......

what traditions are we talking about here? surely it would be better to lose some traditions as they are so outdated and obselete as to be worthless. Why should we respect people who have not earned respect but traditions say we should i.e churches who protected child molestors etc for years should these be respected dont think so lets make new traditions where people and orginisations earn respect

Need to follow the traditions of Jesus not parents and such. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for following traditions of men, so we all need to follow Jesus.

Sort of a broad question, isn't it?

Sure, many traditions are worthy to be passed down. Some aren't.
