There's a ton of info online about how to do this. You'll be thanking yourself later for doing this now! Crate training is the kindest and most efficient way to teach your pup how to make the right potty choices - and, the crate protects your pup from getting in to things that she shouldn't when you can't supervise her 100%.

I have crate trained two dogs and this is how I trained them, before you get ready to go to bed make sure you take the dog out to use the restroom and make you the first thing you do when you get up is take her out. Also you'll want to do same thing when you leave. Make sure you don't get a crate that is to big other wise she will be able to potty on one side and lay on the other and this will stop it from working. Hope this helps

How you can train your pet to go in a crate or other cage you can persuade by putting it's favorite toys in to the crate, if that doesn't work use treats, if that doesn't work use food you can put that IAMS gravy on it's food or use canned food show the pet the food let them sniff it,then open the cage put the food or whatever you are using and close the door. Then the dog will see the item you are using and then the dog wants to go inthe crate, let your pet go in and close the door. REMEMBER remove the collar or whatever your dog is wearing. Also remember to keep at it and you will remember the technique and your dog will get used to the crate.

Crate training is great. It give your dog its own space. Gives your dog a place to to get away from kids and other animals, gives you somewhere to put your dog to keep it safe and your items safe from your dog when you go out. Rather than give you lots of rettrick on the subject. If you go to my website burdicklabradors.com under helpful hints, behavioral problems I have a great link for crate training ideas

You'll be glad that you did! Not only will you be able to leave her safely when you go out, but if she should have to be confined (like at the vet's) she will be used to it, and not get stressed out. And all mine go in their crates voluntarily, they think of it as their own private bedroom. If we have visitors who are uncomfortable around dogs, we can just say "crate", and the dogs all head for their own crate. It also stops them from tearing around the house at night while we are trying to sleep.

Keep your pet in a carrier/crate and when you let them out take them outside immediately. This will reinforce their training to "go" outside.
