Considering that the Shaolin monks were called on to defend the Empire from attack by Japanese pirates (who were basically Ninja without the element of surprise) in the 1500's and they repeatedly defeated the pirates I'd say Shaolin. The pirates or Wokou were armed with Ninja like weapons and many were reportedly Ninja who had been employed by the Wokou. The Wokuo had plundered the Chinese coast for over 100 years before the Shaolin monks faced them, they continued to loot and pillage after the Shaolin battle as well, but they never succeeded against the Shaolin monks.

The Shaolin were specifically trained in fighting with the staff, spear and unarmed against hose attacking with weapons and in greater numbers. A single monk would often defeat several armed soldiers and assassins. So a single Ninja vs a single monk would be little challenge. The only hope the Ninja would have would be to kill the monk in his sleep, but then that would be his preferred method anyway.

Well if the shaolin didnt know the ninja was coming then the ninja would probably win but in combat including weapons the shaolin monk would win.

The Shaolin Monk would win for he is a trained and diciplined warrior/fighter. A ninja is a master of stealth assassin.Since the ninja is trained in sneaking up on and killing a person without them knowing it, he/she would not be as efficient in an up close and personal one on one fight with a Shaolin.

First, katana's were used through samuari. They were used through ninjas as a conceal. Ninja's used even if become accessible to their income did not opt for to strive against in undeniable sight and such until eventually it become component of their conceal. so a lengthy way as shaolin clergymen, there have been warrior clergymen and non-combative clergymen. because it truly is now, Shaolin clergymen are superb acrobats and present day wushu specialists. Now a days there are few authentic ninja preparation factors and teahers. Stephen Haynes left the study as did others to commence their personal (besides the actual undeniable reality that some moved lower back to that study). If it turned right into a immediately strive against hostile to a warrior monk... the monk. If it become the different time the ninja. If it become present day circumstances i'd say a marien particular forces or a military Seal. They do p.c.. the conflict time and the kit for use. purely my ideas

The Shaolin. I take Shaolin Kung Fu and Shaolin are trained to fight like warriors and to never give up. Ninja are weak and must stick to the shadows and hide like cowards. Plus, nothing will suprise the Monk so the Ninja's techniques would be ineffective.

Are you asking style v. style or fighter v. fighter?

Shaolin v. Ninja because both are ineffective forms of combat, the heavier fighter would probably win.

If you mean Vitor "Shaolin" Riberia v. Murillo "Ninja" Rua, then ninja would win. Shaolin has the better record, but the size disparity would be too much for him. Both of their records are included below.

If it was no rules then the ninja would probably (not definatly) win as they like to fight cheap.

But if they were bot aware and no traps and stuff were aloud then the shaolin would get him

Overall with no rules? Ninja because he will just set up booby traps in Shaolin's home. In a ring with a referee and a point system, Shaolin every time.

shaolin monks for the win!!! enough of this ninja talk. the media have spiced up to what they seem to be today -- invincible, sneaky martial artists.

real ninjas back in the days were trained assasins, and are not as glorified and invincible as it seem in the media today. why do you not see or hear of ninjas existing today? because their way didn't work.

shaolin monks on the other hand, has a long history and yet still exists -- their arts are still passed on as we speak.
