religion is Spritiual fraud, that's what Jesus said!
Jesus was a Man that had a private, personal, direct, divine relationship with Our Creator and you can too!
Break the ties with religion and create your private, personal, direct, divine relationship with Our Creator and save your Soul! I did too!

You quoted the words of Jesus but are void of understanding them! Why did Jesus say that His followers will also do the works He did and even greater works? Is it because they are better than Him? Does the Bible even hint of this notion? NOT AT ALL!
The reason why His followers can do greater works is BECAUSE Jesus was going to the Father! Listen to this well! Jesus went to the Father, and then the Holy Spirit is sent down to dwell with believers. While on earth Jesus was confined to a human body and a physical location, there are limits to what He can do as a human. But when He ascended and sends the Holy Spirit upon the believers, the breadth and scope of good works are multiplied wherever believers are found.
So the bottom line is this: While on earth Jesus did many great works. But in heaven, Jesus can accomplish GREATER works through the believers! Everything still points to Christ and exalts Christ. Try as you might to degrade Jesus Christ but He is the one who has the Name above all other names!

definite, 'the entire Christian area might want to crumple' as you so succinctly placed it. The incarnation is unquestionably on the centre of what Christianity is, so, no you won't be able to easily be a Christian yet denounce the Incarnation (although, regrettably, there are a lot that do only this). you spot, if Jesus replaced into in elementary words human, then the position does that placed the Atonement? both are interdependent, in reality. If Jesus replaced into in elementary words human, might want to that advise that a trifling guy died for our sins, being a proper sacrifice? It casts actual doubt on Jesus' artwork on the pass - even downgrades it - if he replaced into in reality only a trifling guy. Can a trifling guy provide everlasting lifestyles as Jesus claimed to do?(John 10:28, 17:2) Can a trifling guy stay a sinless lifestyles? (John 8:40 six) Can he forgive sins? (Matt. 9:6, Mk. 2:7, John 8:11) Can he fulfil endless messianic prophecies? (Mark 15:28, John 7:40 2, 13:18, 19:24, 28,36, 20:9). Can he provide unto his followers 'residing water' and baptize with the Holy Spirit? (John 4:10, a million:33). Can he foretell his personal lack of lifestyles and resurrection? (Matt. 20:18-19, John 12:24). Can he make unique claims and say such issues as 'i'm the resurrection and the lifestyles'? (John 11:25). Jesus himself specially claimed to be the Son of God - ie. equivalent with the daddy (John 5:18, Phill. 2:6) in the daddy, and the daddy in him (John 14:10) taking on his lips the Divine call 'i'm' (Matt. 27:40 3, John 8:24, 28, fifty 8, 13:19). Approving of Peter, even as he stated 'thou artwork the Christ, the Son of the residing God' (Mk. 8:29) He confessed it in the previous the severe Priest (Mark 14:6) to boot to: John 10:31 - why did the Jews take up stones (again) to stone him? Luke 4:29 - why did the individuals of Nazareth seek for to solid him down from the hill? John 18:5,6,8 - why did the guards fall backwards? Matt 26:sixty 5 - why did the severe Priest rend his outfits? even as Jesus refered to Daniel 7:13 in the previous him? (v64). Why? - because Jesus made no secret about it, he claimed to be the Jewish Messiah very Son of God, equivalent with the daddy (Phill. 2:6).

Jesus did one thing that can never be surpassed by anyone. That was the atoning sacrifice he made so that all of us could be saved if we would just believe on him.
I don't think this is what he was talking about in this passage. Here, I think he was talking about the miracles he did on a nearly daily basis during his ministry.
He knew that his time was short. He only had about three years to do anything. He knew that many of us would have a much longer time period to accomplish even greater works.

When Jesus said the disciples would do greater things than He did, He basically referred to the extent of their ministry, not the power they would have.
No one could do any works greater in power than what Jesus did. But the extent of the disciples' ministry was much greater. For example, Jesus had never preached outside of Palestine. The disciples made far more converts than Jesus ever made.
Jesus is a God (John 1:1) but was made a little lower then angels when he was born onto the earth.
Heb 2:9 - But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

"Greater" in terms of scope/number, not greater as "better".
As to your divinity question, yes & no. Jesus performed miracles to get people's attention. That is how prohets worked at that time. Miracles were expected and He would not have been taken seriously had he not performed them. Once He had their attention, He preached God's message and plan. He was divine in that he could perform miracles on His own...with no help from anyone. Man/woman can perform divine miracles, but have to do so in the name of God.
Who in their right mind looks to the Encyclopedia Brittania on issues of theology? That, in and of itself, is ridiculous. If you want to do research on the idenity of the Gospel writer John, I would suggest a biblical website.

Jesus was on earth then but now He is in heaven at the right hand of the Father and he ever liveth to make intersession for the saints. Now nothing is impossible for the saints if they all get together and ask believing for something good from God. Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of Lights in whom there is no Variableness neither shadow of turning. Praise God!!!!!

* There are many theories about that, but I used to preach that since Jesus lived a perfect life and he could not preach the gospel because he had to live it and die and assend to heaven, then when we preached the death, burial and ressurection of Christ, that was the greater thing because Jesus could not do this since he was in heaven. This makes more sense and is more in line with the bible than the Pentecostals claiming their fake miracles are greater, when jesus made the blid see and raised the dead and made limbs grow and they cannot do this, but when I was Pentecostal, they claimed to do greater miracles than Jesus. Go figure.*

Funny you didn't mention the verses before this where Jesus explains the source of his POWER. Are you learning to be an Imam? Jesus is talking about the works that will be done in his NAME. He has given all power to us to do good works through the Holy Spirit. Mohammed did no miracles, and are YOU limited to submitting?

Jesus did His miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit. All Christians perform miracles by the power of the same Holy Spirit.
So if Jesus wants the Holy Spirit to do miracles through us greater than He did it will happen. It is not by our own might nor our own power but by the Spirit.
