Judging by your question, you already know English better than most of the Americans who write here at Yahoo!

I have a several suggestions. First, read! Read a lot. Read stuff that is informative. Read classics in English. Do not read too much pop-culture stuff, because some of them do not have good vocabulary or grammer, although they are not too bad for learning to be more conversational.

Second, Google or do a Yahoo! search on "speaking english" or "learn english." There are a lot of websites that have helpful tools for people trying to learn English. They even have pronunciation tools, with sound!

Finally, build your vocabulary. A good way to do this is to think of five words in your own language that you would like to know the English word for. Look up in a dictionary (you can find language dictionaries online if you do not own one yourself) the five English words and try to memorize them and use them throughout the day. Do this every day. I even recommend this to people who already speak English. Memorize a few words every day, and you'll be speaking like a college professor in a matter of months.

That's all I've got. Good luck!

If you composed this question without help then your English is beyond most of the people that write on this site.

Pen pals are a very good idea and you can join any number of sites that allow you to interact with others.

But what you need to do is to join English speaking clubs or organizations in Hong Kong......writing well and speaking well are two very different accomplishments.

While I'm at giving you advice let me state this with extreme importance; do not ever get into the habit of using text speak/write like you see on this site in so many instances. It ruins the ability to use the language properly and does not respect the reader.

Try to watch television in English. My french teacher said that helped her and her sister when they moved to the US from France as children. Also, try to talk in English with your friends for extra practice.

Try and think in English. This may sound strange but when you think you tend to do so in your native tongue. If you force yourself to think in the language you want to learn, or are learning, it allows you to organize the language in your mind. When learning Spanish I did this and found it very helpful.
