Well, that would require you to actually be in a relationship. If that is the case, cheat on that person and then you will have an "ex" very quickly. Twisted but good luck with that.

Yeah, it's called getting a life. Why do you allow someone who's not thinking about you so much power over your subconscious mind? You could be doing all kinds of great things and meeting people who you never thought you could. But you're sitting around pining over some Ahole who dumped you. Really, GET A LIFE!!!

Go out with friends, and start going on friendly dates with other people. It might not make your totally forget your ex, but it'll definately take your mind off him while occupying your time.

Yes.
Think about her in favorable terms. Remember the good times. And, then acknowledge to yourself that she has moved on and is seeing someone else. Wish her the best and all the happiness in the world, and then tell yourself that you need to find someone else.

Throw out anything that reminds you of him. Pictures, letters etc. Dont go anyplace that he will be. Out of sight out of mind....
Dont take instant messages emails or cell or telephone calls from him. Trust me this will work. Move on and tell yourself someone out there is a better fit for me.

Only time can heal the heart.
Perhaps take up a hobby that doesn't remind you of your ex?

Yes, every time you think of her/him, remember something that they did that was either gross or really pi$$ed you off.
It so easy to just remember the good times after a break up.
