*The teach the doctrines and opinions of that particular faith. They do not actually teach the bible. Best way to learn the bible is to read it as it means what it says and says what it means, and if you do this you will know more about the bible than 90 per cent of Chritians.*

They teach them to never think for themselves. And brainwash them into thinking Jesus is God and non-believers are poorly educated buffoons. At the same time when children believe in the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and Santa Clause. They tell children the bible is all piece and love. And never talk about how horrible Abraham and Moses were. But make them out to be friends of Jesus. That loved everyone equally and the reality is oh so different.

They would teach you basic academic subjects. It has been shown and proved that private school students get better grades on standardized academic tests then their public school counterparts (even though the private school teachers get paid a fraction of the salary of public school teachers). In science they teach Biblical stories to younger children, and in science class they present evolution as well as divine design. I know public school teachers will get mad and maybe report me for insulting them. Before you have a knee jerk reaction to my comments realize I am simply stating FACT and am not giving my personal opinion.
I'm sure many people will have their biases just as the person who asked this question, whose presupposition is the Bible contains contradictions. I would suggest you read the Bible before you jump on the bandwagon of bashing Christianity. I know it's in vogue to undermine a Bible you have never read, taking a few quotes from skeptics websites, but if that's the way you "role" is your eternity.

I use to have a children's Bible. It tells the major stories of the Bible without getting into the nastier aspects of it. That's what they teach in Bible School.
"Who was Noah?"
"the guy who built the ark."
And then they draw pretty pictures of animals in a boat.

Generally just like the government schools, they try to brainwash people into their peculiar beliefs. What contradictions in Scripture? Most are the reflections of "facts" we have accepted that simply are not true.

They teach how we can walk with god and how lead a good christian life. Also learn about how you can pray to god to get an answer. They also give the guidance to learn about the things in the world. They will also give the history of Jesus.
