1. Get yourself and your paintings to New York
2. Get your work professionally photographed
3. Research the various galleries to find the ones that are most appropriate for YOUR work.
4. Find out what the submission policy of those galleries might be.
5. Submit your work in photographic form to those galleries that look at new artists.
6. If they like the work, and then they see it in person and STILL like it, they might offer you an exhibition.

Just consult the various gallery websites, if you can explain who you are and where you're from, and show some sample works, and if you can get the paintings out of your country and over here, many would probably show your work. I dunno how easy it would be to get the money back and forth though.
