Def. go see your doctor and try to get some relief! They can maybe perscribe something a bit stronger. I also must say that a good healthy clean diet will always help - and make sure to drink you're water. :)
What a pain being a girl can be....I have had trouble in the past with my period as well. I started practicing yoga a few years back and my period is the best it's ever been. I'm regular and it's quick and easy. I loved the yoga so much and it helped my overall life so much that I actually started teaching....I have a lot of women who come in to get relief of pms and all that junk. So I say try it out!!

I'm a fan of pamprin, because it has an ingredient for the bloating as well. But Aleve is supposed to be great for abdominal pain, plus it lasts 12 hours. The heating pad is also my best friend, or those thermacare heat wraps when you aren't at home. I went through a phase when my cramps were so bad that I had to wear those all the time. Maybe you should see a gyno, you might have a condition called endometriosis which is best kept in check by taking oral contraceptives. I don't have endometriosis, but my gyno told me really the only thing to do was to go on birth control and although I thought she was nuts and I wasn't particularly happy with the idea, after a few months the cramps really lightened up along with my periods. It's worth a thought.

I had a similsr experience about a year ago - was late - took a test and there was a faint line/shadow, even though the first test was negative the second test was shadowed! I waited a few more days and went to the doctor who did a test there and then to determine the result - it was negative. Dont worry about the lateness of this as you have been on anti b's, my friend was on them (they cause the pill to not work properly) and she was about 2 weeks late - so dont worry just yet, on the other hand, as they can stop the pill from working there is a good chance you could be pregnant. Try not to let this bother you (hard i know!) but wait and see what the doctor has to say first. Any way, good luck and i hope you get the result you are looking for!!! xx

first of all, there is a reason why you are getting those period pains. Women (females) should not drink too much cold stuff (may it be water, soft drinks, anything) ..because our body is just built in a way that cannot handle too much cold stuff. So, during the times that you do not have your period, just try not to drink too much cold beverages. And, when you DO have your period, DO NOT DRINK COLD BEVERAGES at all. It will make your blood clog up in pieces... since cold water makes blood harden and clog/cluster together. Try to drink more hot water so that it soothes and makes clusters melt. Also, DO NOT WASH YOUR HAIR when you have your period. Try to wash it the day before your period comes. But when you do, use hot water and after you wash your hair, blow dry it immediately. These are the two things that helped me. I've never had period pains EVERSINCE. - - - - - I don't know who marked my answer down but it is tips that many adults have given me. (PROVEN BY ME THAT IT WORKS) Anyways, I just wanted to add that this works only when done consecutively.. it will improve your system in the LONG RUN, NOT THE SHORT RUN. But I think that is the most important thing. I'm not here to give u tips on how to help your cramps go away for your next period...but I want you to know how to take care of yourself so that you won't have cramps EVER AGAIN (LIKE ME).

Most is a form of muscle cramps which suggests that magnisium and potassium are low. Both molasses (swig) and bananas contain them.
There is a book that teaches about muscles, pain and referred pain anywhere in the body. The principle is that the muscles get knots called trigger points which make the muscles tight that then press on nerves. It teaches how to get them to release which gets rid of the pain.
The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.

I have this same exact problem.
I've actually went and seen my doctor about it.
He told me that he would not reccomend it at my age (im 16), but if it continues to stay severe that he could put me on birth control (just for the pain).
As of right now, I use midol teen extra strength, and also some heating pads from walmart that stick to you. I usually put them on while im laying down.
I've come to learn that this usually helps, so I hope it helps you!
Good luck girl!

birth control is a common method for girls who have severe problems with their periods, as in your case. I would be very careful and discuss all of your options with your doctor though to weigh any risks w/ taking it. Birth control can cause problems later when you want to have kids. My boyfriends mother had really bad periods when she was a teenager and started taking birth control to help. It ended up doing a lot of damage and she wasn't even supposed to have kids. She was lucky because she only had the most very minimal chance of even having one kid. He is an only child though She tried for another kid. Needless to say he is a miracle. So just be careful.
Until you can talk with your doctor I would suggest midol, extra strength tylenol or ibuprofen, and a beanbag heated up in the microwave to place over stomache to help relieve cramping. Also try a hot bubble bath to try to soothe.

I had the same problem. I had endrodemetriosis. I suspect you do to. This requires surgery and medication. You do need to see a dr. The best cure that I can give you is to take calcium, magnizuim, and zinc. you can get a combo at walmart or rite aid.
