It's a good thing that you stopped giving your cat milk.
They are lactose intolerant and milk can cause them to have loose stools.
Keep an eye on the cat today, he'll more than likely drink some water.

Something my Vet told me was to feed cats a mixture of wet and dry food.
He said wet food is good because it has a lot of moisture in it...cats do drink water, but sometimes they don't drink enough and the wet food helps to keep them hydrated.

Most cats are lactose intolerant, so milk isn't really that good for them. It can cause diarrhea and dehydration and if milk is the only thing available can lead to a vicious cycle. The cat will drink the water when it gets thirsty. I only notice my cat drink once or twice a day, but I'm sure she has slipped a few drink when I'm not looking. Don't worry, the cat will drink the water eventually.

No, in fact it's not really good for cats to drink milk. Many don't even like it. Water is the way to go, and if you feed canned food (or a raw diet), cats don't even need to drink very much to stay hydrated.

"Contrary to the popular thought that cats love milk—and most do like the taste—it typically is not good for them. For many cats, it causes digestive upset and sometimes diarrhea. This is because most cats can't digest milk properly because it contains lactose (milk sugar), which may cause loose bowels.

There are specially formulated kitty “milks” available at pet stores that do not have cow's milk in them or that are treated with the enzyme lactase to break down the milk sugar and make it digestable. Please consider looking for one of these next time you would like to give kitty milk."

I don't know if you've ever noticed, but animals that consume large quantities of dairy products have a tendency to produce a most malicious air. You should keep the water bowl full.
