The high cooking temperature would kill most pathogins including salmonella.
This is the first I'm hearing about a Peter Pan peanut butter recall. It's somewhat unusual for salmonella to be associated with a vegetable protein. Certainly there's a possibility of it occurring by cross contamination but you'd think the added sugar would inhibit the salmonella growth.

Throw them out and if you already ate them call a health care hot line they can help you .The peanut butter was from Peter Pan and Best value which is from Wal-Mart both came from Conagr
there were several states that this involved (CNN)

I think nobody can tell you for sure if your cookies are OK to eat, but if you already ate some, than if you do not get sick in the next 48 hours, than it is probably OK to eat the rest of the cookies. Meanwhile I suggest to keep them in the freezer, because salmonella does not live at temperatures under the freezing point.

Here are some facts about salmonella:

"The incubation period for Salmonella gastroenteritis (food poisoning) depends on the dose of bacteria. Symptoms usually begin 6 to 48 hours after ingestion of contaminated food or water and usually take the form of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Myalgia and headache are common; however, the cardinal manifestation is diarrhea. Fever (38oC to 39oC) and chills are also common. At least two-thirds of patients complain of abdominal cramps. The duration of fever and diarrhea varies, but is usually 2 to 7 days."

They should be fine to eat. I made some cookies today. They baked at 350F for 11 minutes and the internal temperature reached over 180F.

Hello.
Yes you need to throw them away, even if you bake them you will never get the salmonella out. The reason I know that, the same thing happened to my daughter and she ended up in the hospital for five days. Please throw them out for you and your family.
Take care.

As long as their internal temperature got about 165 F, you should be fine.
