sometimes you have to think outside of the box to come to a solution. The problem is not what you seek, it's the solution. So in turn you don't want to focus on the problem but beyond the problen where the solution lies. Kinda confusing huh?

I think that is yammering from someone who never really had to solve a problem. If a problem is defined as just dealing with a soft issue like "how can we all share our crayons during free-coloring time?" then silly discussions can clear that up. If the problem is something like "Is this cancer drug with a high remission rate worth the terrible side effects?" then talking around it will not provide anything useful.
There are people who make a great living absorbing corporate dollars by giving talks on subjects of problem solving in which those kind of sayings are the central theme. Unfortunately the only benefits from their talks are into the speakers' bank accounts.

I think it means you can't see the forest for the trees.
If all you are thinking about is the problem how will you be able to focus on the solution? The problem becomes too large and you will never be able to get past it.

Possibly it means that you need to focus on the solution AFTER UNDERSTANDING the problem and its various facets, etc.
The more you understand of the problem, and associated contributory issues surrounding it, you will better be able to FOCUS on the solution.

somretime you are so focused on the problem that you dont see the solution even though its right in your face...you need to relax take a deep breath and think of possible solutions.

well personnally i think that it means if you focus on your problem too much, then you will not find a solution. but if u forget about it or dont think about it as much, then the answer will just come to you.

You need to look at what caused the problem, not the problem itself. Only when you understand the cause can you think of how to solve it.

Probably means you're making the problem harder than it really is. Whatever it is, don't think its hard, just think of a way to solve it.

I think its alluding to the power of positive thought. If you think of the problem, then the problem persists, but if you think BEYOND the problem, then the answer is close.
