She just wants to stay with me all day. She fell off her swing & hurt her foot yesterday. She is always doing that & she already has 2 broken toes from the times before. But this time she is drinking a lot of water & wants to sleep & cuddle up to me. She is a resue bird who I have had for 9years so I don't know how old she is. Her wings have always been a little painful for her & I think she hurt them when she fell too, because there is some blood on them, but I have looked carefully & can't see any sore place. I put a Hot bottle on top of her cage with plenty of blankets last night so she was warm & I have given her a drop of infant Calpol every 4hours. I wonder why she is drinking so much? I hope she is just drowsy from the Calpol, but I think that is not the case as she is sleepy now & it has been 5hours since her last drop.
I would take her vets, but her sister died under anestheic when he was examining her last year. He said bird often do that. I don't want that to happen again.

Human medicines are not designed for bird so I would stop the calpol imeddiatley, as this is acting as an anasthetic for her and will be slowing down her metabolism. Remove any dangerous swings or loose perches and make sure she is warm enough by putting her near to a radiator or putting a heat source ( hot water bottle) UNDER the cage as heat rises not falls. Make sure she has fresh water all the time as she will need to flush the calpol which contains paracetamol from her system.
If she does not improve very quickly take her to a vets as sooon as you can.

She needs to see an Avian vet. She shouldn't need to be anaesthetized just for an examination. It sounds like the vet the other bird went to wasn't very experienced with birds. If you can't find an avian vet in your area try contacting a bird breeder. Because they deal with so many birds they may be able to give you emergency help with your bird and to recommend a vet. Vet's should be specially trained to deal with birds.

First of all, I would take the swing out of the cage.

She may have broken her leg when she fell this time. If she has blood on her wings then she definitely needs to see an Avion vet.

Give the specialist a call and see what to do. They may be able to give you some ideas. But I would definitely get her checked out.

Take the bird to the vet and stay with the bird. Tell the vet you don't want the bird to have any anesthesia or whatever. If the vet insists on the anesthesia then take the bird to another vet.

Could be Internal bleeding. You really do need to take your guy in to an avain vet. And also tell them what you have been giving your bird.. Medication.
