I am looking for a neat and easy craft for my daughter to do after school today for her grandmother's birthday. Does anyone on here have any suggestions of a craft or a web site that has some neat yet sweet ones to do? My daughter is 7 so she knows how to work with craft supplies pretty well.

Home made salt play dough can be made into anything. Baskets, animals, etc. it can than be baked and when cooled varnished. Or, with some cardboard, padding, material and glue a photo frame can be made. Cut the front of the photo frame, eg square or oval with enough space for photo in the middle, then glue on some padding, cover it with material, make cuts in the middle so it can be turned in and glued. The back piece of cardboard can be left plain, just make sure that when attaching the back you leave room for the photo to be inserted. A stand can be made of firm cardboard glued to the back of the frame or you can attach string to hang it. If desired you can use ribbons, beads, etc to decorate the frame.

These are all sites that I use on a regular basis. The first one is a site that offers free crafts but also has a membership site that costs $20. You can find some great stuff there for free. I invested the 20 and found that it was well worth it. The other 2 sites are great, but dtlk is a favorite around my house. Have fun!!!

My daughter loves beads! She just turned 8. We also started making friendship bracelets.

Try the Fingertips website from the UK. Tons of good ideas and some are very quick.
