Dogs make the best pets.
They have a wider variety of emotions and, they come in a wider variety of shapes, sizes and colors (well maybe cats are equal in this regard).
Dogs are also more sociable.

My best pet was a midget. Does your pet dog or cat clean up your house or wipe your butt for you? my pet did. but then the police came and took him away and were all like "bla bla bla, slavery is wrong, bla bla bla. But I mean I bought him, and it's not like it was a real person, it was a midget.
