I install microswitch in our wardrobe so that the light will turn off once I close the door. It should be a normally open microswitch. Ask the store assistant what you want and they usually know the switch.

You need a small pressure switch like you get in fridges. I would have thought most DIY stores would sell these.

In the UK then B&Q, IKEA and FOCUS all sell them. Three different types doing the same job. IKEA being the cheapest and possibly the best.
