Study. Observe. Theorize. Test the theory. Start over. Someone quoted some movie saying "you can't handle the truth". Most of us can't. We begin with a preconcieved notion then seek evidence to support it. We reject any evedence that goes aganst our beleif. This is not limited to any one group of persons. It happens with believers and non-beleivers, clergy and laity, and scientists alike. Scientists prefer to think that their scientific method makes them immune to this but it does not. That is how obvious scientific facts sometimes get lost in a wave of scientific fantasy for many years. There may be a few isolated voices of reason, but they are pretty much left outside the main stream. Of course later they are hailed as genious. It takes time for people let go of closely held beleifs. It can't be just proven. It has to be proven over and over and over before they even begin to accept what is true.
Everyone has their 'ruler' by which they measure truth. When we are children, it is pretty much what our parents tell us. For many believers it is the Bible, the Koran, the Torah or some other sacred book. For some it is their church or clergyperson. For still others it is mainstream science. Although not scientists themselves, they accept what the scientists postulate as truth.
To some, like myself, it is important to search for the truth. I find nuggetss of truth and these are valuable to me. But I may never actully hit the 'mother lode'.
Others find a comfortable niche and remain there because searching is too daunting and frustrating a task. They are content with the few nuggets of truth they have already found that are commingled with varying amounts of fool's gold.

Jesus'answer to your question is found in John 8:31,32 So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, “If you abide in My words – hold fast to my teachings and live in accordance with them – you are truly My disciples. And you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” By letting your life reflect the truth, the word of God.

Question was top grade, but your additional details lost its essence.
Most of the people will really know the truth at the time of death, there are very few who dies before death.

The Messiah YAHOSHUA is truth. He presents Himself in Scriptures. Once you learn and accept Him, He gives you the peace of mind He promised. It makes sense, and it tells the truth about this world.

I'm sorry. Some people aren't capable of understanding the truth. That is why I don't bother telling them.
