And do you also think that it makes a woman who loves you feel good when you act aggrivated by the special day? Do you think it is really that difficult to act more pleasant and loving on that day? Most of us really don't want or expect expensive items. I'd be happy with a pleasant attitude toward love and maybe a heart felt card. Is that really too much to expect?

My grandfather use to give me a Valentine every year. He didn't miss one and this is the first year without him. I just wanted a pleasant day. Not a "Scrooge" (in a since) as a partner. I felt he was very cold about my feelings. I also haven't said a word to him but he knows he was rude yesterday. It also bothers me when people say if you love someone ... you love them everyday. Very true. But what does it mean when you put effort toward rebelling against Valentine's Day? Is it really that difficult to be pleasant?

I like valentines day myself. Although many would never know it. I've not give out cards or flowers on this day since elementary school. Until yesterday, I gave cards and flowers to every woman in my life to and including my daughters and step daughters who are adults.

For most of them it was the only Valentines Day card they recieved. I think they were all shocked to get one from me for sure.

I just like this new me as i've decided it's time to become so very unpredictable.

From 9-5 it's just another (usually frustrating) day at work. After 5pm it's an expensive day (the source of many a stress.)

But when you are happy and in love you don't need valentines day to feel good about each other.

But when you both start sniping at aech other the love bank depletes.

Don't wait for him - make a deposit today.

Just another day this year because I have no one at this time. But the last 8 yrs I always bought my wife flowers & gifts. Even when I had someone I really kind of thought it was just another day. I always made sure to take of my lady on that day though.

no it isn't too much. sometimes we are too busy to plan things or expect a special day that it won't be as pleasant as the ones that are planned and organized. but understanding the situation is the best way to find out why the guy isn't being sweet

that is how i feel --- valantines has always been a day to express my feelings more than usual --- to me giving and receiving a card is what it is about --- a sincere message of how you feel toward each other --- saying that i have never received a card from anyone before i was married and no card for at least the last 20 years --- best wishes to you

I only hate the commercials that try to tell you if you want to make her happy spend $300. Otherwise I enjoy that extra excuse to show love....at least I would if I had a girlfriend lol.

No, I think that it is a day to be romantic and show you girlfriend how much she means to you. If you think that its just another day then i think that you are really not in love with the other person. I think you should want to please the other person and treat them differently because it is a lovers holiday.

It's what I call, 'Dog House Day". If we're in the Dog House? A Dozen Roses later? We're Pardoned! (You know I'm right!)
